Of all of the public access I have visited, this one is one of my favorites. It is far enough away from the city that it is rarely crowded, yet close enough to get lunch without driving all day. The street side parking is limited, but not as limited as some of the others at Topsail Beach. The beach is wide with a gentle slope. There is not usually a crowd, but if there were, it would be big enough to accommodate. The water seems to get clearer as you head south. The only draw back I can note is this is not the best place to hunt for shark teeth! You should visit this access sometime and post your comments!

All accesses at Topsail Beach offer free parking, but this access only offers street side parking…very limited street side parking! There is a bike rack for convenience. The beach is a gentle grade and is wide enough to accommodate many patrons without crowding. The water is some of the clearest on the east coast, but that is pretty standard for Topsail Beach.

All accesses at Topsail Beach offer free parking, but this access only offers street side parking…very limited street side parking! There is an emergency vehicle entry point at access 16, making it easy for first responders to get to you in case of emergency. The beach is a gentle grade and is wide enough to accommodate many patrons without crowding. The water is some of the clearest on the east coast, but that is pretty standard for Topsail Beach.

There is a handicap accessible Porta-John here, something you don’t often see. The beach is a gentle grade and is wide enough to accommodate many patrons without crowding. The water is some of the clearest on the east coast, but that is pretty standard for Topsail Beach.

Got this from a friend of mine. These photos are from 23 August, taken from a helicopter between Shackleford Banks & Fort Macon/Atlantic beach area. Be aware that they are in mass numbers right now, in 10 feet of water.

There is no parking available at this access. There is paid parking available on West Henderson Street on the other side of North Lumina Avenue. This parking is farther away than parking available at other accesses making this a less desirable choice if you have a lot of stuff to carry, but it is an equally beautiful beach. There is no surfing allowed due to distance to the pier. This access is marked on the beach side making it easier to find your access when the dreaded time to go home has arrived.

Wrightsville Beach Public Access 18 is a post from: Beach Addiction

This access offers metered parking along Greensboro Street, so don’t forget your change! Part of the parking here is private parking. You will notice the sign on your left as you make the turn onto Greensboro Street. The private parking is anything on the “horseshoe” drive. Make sure you don’t park in the wrong place or your vehicle will get towed and you will likely face a $250.00 fine. There is a lifeguard located between accesses 16 and 17. This access has a bench to sit at just at the end of the walk.
